Ways to Add Life to Your Walls

Ways to Add Life to Your Walls

Are you tired of looking at that one bare wall? Or are you looking for a way to simply liven up a room?  Incorporating artwork is the perfect way to add color and life to a space.  Although, some may find choosing artwork to be a daunting and expensive task, it doesn't have to be.

It is important to make sure that the colors and style of your piece complement the existing space.  Finding colors in your existing space within a piece of artwork, or basing the colors of your space off a piece of artwork, will not only create a cohesive look, but will also enhance your space.  If you are working with a neutral color palette, a piece of artwork could serve as a large pop of color, while simultaneously adding interest to the existing space.

Placement of your artwork is also key. First, you are going to want to decided where you want your artwork to be displayed. It is important to select a location that will allow for the piece(s) to be displayed so they can be properly viewed by everyone. You should also keep in mind the size of the piece.  You do not want an oversized piece dominating a small wall, but you also do not want smaller pieces standing alone.  Artwork does not always have to be hung on a wall either.  A great statement moment can be made by propping your piece against the wall on top of a chest of drawers.  This will create a more casual and comfortable environment.

One factor that often scares individuals away from incorporating artwork into their spaces is the price.  Yes, there is artwork will cost you more than you make in a year, but that is not the only option.  Artwork do not have to be about the price, it should be about you.  The artwork should mean something to you - it should evoke positivity.  Yes, it is important to keep a budget in mind when purchasing artwork, but it for the most part you will be able to find wonderful pieces of artwork at an efficient cost.

Amy Youngblood Interiors recently worked on a project at Top Nail Salon in Anderson Township and incorporating a few pieces of artwork was one way in which we further enhanced the space.  The colors in the artwork complement the paint color and furniture and the pieces are properly sized and spaced to add a subtle, yet significant impact on the spa. These pieces help to create a warmer and welcoming atmosphere that provide clients with an even better experience.
